Betsy Arnold knew her husband, Bill, wanted to do something big for his 50th birthday. But she didn’t realize it would involve him pedaling his Orbea across the country as a member of Team Type 2.
“He always does bite off a big chunk, but he always manages to chew it,” Betsy told Lafayette Journal & Courier newspaper reporter Bob Culp.
Bill Arnold is one of eight members of Team Type 2, all of whom have Type 2 diabetes. This will be the team’s first competition in the Race Across America (RAAM).
